So I hate to revise and old thread but this has come back to haunt me. Apparently (as you can see from the picture of the milled manifold), the weld job on the blockoff plate I had welded into the manifold was piss poor and resulted in the plate being dislodged and sucked into the #5 cylinder where it bounced around and wadded up.

I heard a ting dingaling sound coming from the motor the other day and I tore it down to find 3 separate pieces of destroyed aluminum in the #5 cylinder. There was no real damage so I cleaned it up and Im putting it back together.

this time I'll use the intake manifold withe the steel shims instead of a welded in plate


It's got a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.
