The motor was from right around 1999 2000. The decks were a bit off but we parallel decked it also.I felt like I was writing a novel so I didn't go through every detail. The just didn't debur the holes for the pushrods. I guess im lucky a lot of the other issues didn't come up. I did have to take the heads back off on the dyno, the pass head was leaking oil at the top right corner where it is rounded under the dist. Steel head gaskets, took that side of and measured, 25 thous on the bottom of the gasket, 35 thous at the top. I torqued the head again before pulling it off and still leaked.The oil was running around the tab that goes up near the intake on the deck. I was done at that point and went ahead & put cometic 27 thous. gaskets on it. Problem solved. I have never had good luck with steel head gaskets sealing on hemis. They were even original Direct Conection gaskets.
