What is the reason they are asking you to run 1/8th?

Actually the water seepage issue was corrected two years ago. The track has been sealed with a "new high-tech polymer" that prevents mositure from wicking through the asphalt. Also my insurance couldn't care less if it's 1/8, 1/4 or 1000 ft.

The real reason is that NHRA has dictated 1/8 mile for parity among all tracks in their Summit bracket series. I'm told that all tracks, but one, in Ohio run S/P on the 1/8 mile. I'm also told that this would make it more "user friendly" to local racers.

Personally I'm inclined to stay 1/4 mile unless I hear a REALLY REALLY good arguement.
