also, right around that time period, they went to a different number tooth pinion that turns your armature over. I've rebuilt quite a few MOPAR starteres in my day, and the older and later have some non-interchangeable pieces. the older ones also have a heavy wire inside the starter soldered, and the later ones have a little bolt connection. this heavy wire almost looks like a tiny cable.
