Those are custom springs; maybe narrower for tire clearance as much as anything else, reversed eyes for a couple of reasons. Tunneling the floor for the exhaust came later, pretty common by '70. You can just see the right side tunnel in this pic, inboard of the vacuum tank.




The rear leaf eyes look to have mono-balls (spherical) in them and designed to slide laterally on a shackle bolt/sleeve as to follow the arc of the panhard rod.
