Length of the front segment does not effect the shackle angle , but I did have a problem with the shackle ( 20 degrees ) , you can get the proper angle in two ways . Put a new mounting hole in your frame or adjust the rear segment of your spring to get the angle you want and then drill another hole in your rear spring where you want it to be.
I now have 37 degree angle on my rear shackle
