5carguy OP top fuel 5 Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 2,404 Lee Co. Fla.	I'm building a stock 69 440 for my Coronet.The cam I'm looking at is a Mopar Performance P4286677. Specs are Duration @ .050 inch lift 231int/231exh. Advertised Duration 272int/272exh. Intake and exhaust lift.455 Lobe Separation 112 degrees Do you guys think this is a good cam? Thanks in advance

BSB67 master Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 4,316 Prospect, PA	The cam's actual 0.050" duration is 222. The 231, like every MP cam advertised specification @ 0.050" is wrong. It is a good cam and will make more power than the factory original. I ran in the high 12s at 108 mph in a nearly stock 440 in my 4250 lb (at the time) Charger - no headers, no slicks, 3.23 gear and stock 12" converter. I would use it again. If you want a better - faster near stock cam, Contact Bob K.

gch master Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 3,145 Central NC	I ran that cam in a 71 300 2dr with manifolds and 3.55 gears and it was very fun to drive.Lots of mid range and pulled well up to 5500 IIRC.Had a bit of idle but nothing lumpy by any means.

DOUGG member D Joined: Oct 2009 Posts: 92 south carolina U.S.	Absolutely great cam for completely stock set-up. Had one in a worn out 440 in 66 satellite, gobs of torque &good power to 5200-5500 rpm, low 13's in 1/4 mi. with 3.55's while starving for fuel at top of every gear. [

67plymouthman enthusiast 6 Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 337 Colorado	In one of my cars I have a .484 purpleshaft with an RV converter and performer intake. It is a real nice steet set-up. Maybe a little to big if you want to go on long trips but for cruising it is nice. I hear the next one smaller (.474 I think) is nice also but I would go bigger than the cam you are asking about.

You're picking a pretty mild cam, which may be fine, but you're also leaving some important variables unanswered

Mr.Yuck Not enough dumb comments...yet Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 24,562 Brookeville, Md	I'd go a little bigger. I ran the Summit 224/234 465/488 in a 67 GTX the only upgrade was the CH4B intake. Stock convert, manis, 3.55's and 2.5 exhuast and the car ran 13.80 on street tires. The best I got out of the stock cam was 14.20.
