I asked this same question and the result was that I need to buy a yoke.. slip it in the trans to where there is about 3/4 to 1" out and measure center of joint to the center of the joint on the rear-end to get a true shaft..

This 1" rule works great, Just make sure the the car is sitting on the wheels or the rear axle is on jack stands before you measure it.

If your motor is located in the stock position, the stock length driveshaft will work.
They didn't custom build each part.
That is what i was thinking, Im using Schumacher mounts and will confirm with Cass that the Strange Dana has stock length pinion.
Why would the above quote be incorrect???

One inch would work with the OEM "long" slip yoke, although every stocker I've ever seen has been more like 1/4" to the back of the seal's boot. If using an aftermarket short yoke, be very careful, 1" would be too much for sure.
Rick
So what's the difference in length between the factory part and the "short" yoke?
