In the '80s, red stripes were available for T/As too, but the factory only offered them in black.
I bet they Didnt have a Chrysler part number on them ! Also I could be wrong but if I remeber correctly on the E-bodies they offered different colors later on in the yeasr and did not show up in any colision books or parts books either.

-Several stripes, all red -only center sections not complete rear sets -from a guy that worked for Chrysler -one number off before the black stripe production number. . . . Quote:
IMO pre-production samples that never saw production, like a '72 GTX grill emblem.
I'm with Dan on this one.
70Runnerdude, send some pictures and the story of your purchase to Rob Wolf at MCG magazine and I bet your "Chrysler Files: Prototype Red 70 Road Runner Stripes" story gets printed.
I think those are real Chrysler P/N's. They just were not "released" and used into production. A set of drawings with a p/n on it doesn't even mean they even make a prototype (in this case they did though). But if someone decides to flip the switch and use that p/n in production, the drawings with p/n's are ready to go.

I sent an e-mail to Rob And I also recieved the stripes today in the mail there are 14 of them.
14 center sections only! What do you do with 14 of those? Wouldn't be surprised if the uncle had more, but how many red RR stripes can you put on your: boat, garage wall, and kids toy wagons.
Funny about that picture. Looks about the right size to just be about a fist full of stripes.

Here is another Chrysler document supporting the release of only black, white & gold! See ballon #5 on the left hand side.

The decklid stripe was standard on the hardtop & convertible. The decklid stripe was part of the optional ($81.50) A87 - "decor package" on the coupe. The dust trail stripe was a $15.55 option.
Will the dust trail stripe always be on the fender tag? Sorry to stray off topic
