On my 70 Dart 245/60/15 on a 15" wheel with 4.5" backspace fit with room. I would go with the 255/60/15 on a Duster.

Lots of guys dont know what the first numbers actually mean...Its actually a measurement of the sidewall/bead up the side wall to the center of the tires in Metric units. So the larger first numbers always means both increase in height, and also foot print... I always put the largest set of tires possible when I order, of coarse taking in account gear also. Said that there's not going to be a bunch of diff between the two..

They look like they fit nice. Do you know what the backspacing is on your 15x7's and what diameter the tires are? How much room between the tire and the spring? And finally do you have any pics. of the car from behind?
I think those rims only come with one backspace IIRC. I have no idea what it is either. There is plenty of room and height for a 255/60/15 on your car. No problems whatsoever. I know guys running the 15x7 with 275/60/15's with no modifications. They are pretty tight up to the leafs though.
I can run outside and snap some pics of the 255's but trust me there is no problem running them. If you already have 15x7 with SBC on your car then you have the same rims I have. 255's I believe are ~27.05 diameter.
I am actually going to be copying 67Wedge's son's duster. I think they ran 15x10 w/5.5BS and 275's without even moving the leaf springs. It is the best looking stance I have ever seen on a duster. I'll attach a pic of it for you. PM 67Wedge for more info.

Not true. The first number is the WIDTH, in millimeters. The second it the aspect ratio, a number representing a percentage of the width, which gives you the sidewall height from rim edge to top of tire. Say you have a 225/60R15; 225 is 8.86" WIDE and 60% of that is 5.316", so you double that (10.632"), add your rim height (15"), and you have your tire HEIGHT, which in this case would be 25.632"

Yep, a 225 would be that and a 255 would be 27.05 exactly as I stated. ??

In this particular case, yes. I was just making it clear, because it seemed to me that you were implying that "255's...are ~27.05in diameter", which is exactly what you wrote and nothing more to explain that you were talking about that particular tire size of 255/60R15
