did basicly the same thing with a piece of 1/2 pipe , no drilling required , just put 2 long bolts into the lower holes that get the bolts that come in from the block side ...

a tie strap run from frame rail to frame rail under the bell works a couple coat hangers wraped in the bolt holes and tied to the fire wall what they said all work also good luck
