You have to start somewhere...... For me that would be 108.

ICL minus 4° is very common, good place to start, in fact some manufacturers assume you will do this.

Street car cruise night/weekend warrior.. Heavy 68 satellite. automatic 3500 stall 3.73 gears. 470 low deck, trick flow 270 heads. 10.5 compression. Indy 400-2, tti headers. Cam is mechanical roller 264/270 at .050. .660/.630 lift 112lsa. ground straight up no advance. I know its not optimum but I have it lying around. Would you install intake cl straight up at 112 or advance or retard a few degrees and why. Also have an old isky mech roller 272/272 .050 .630 on a 108. Just want to use what I have on hand for now. Thanks, Galen My cam is sorta close to yours and I am n/a now w/victor intake,h 850cfm 3.73/28" tires 446" but a 5k stall 9.5 vert and I spin the tires at will.[edl std port ported heads]cam is in at 108 ps;here is a video go to 1:33 and it spins at 3500 rpm at 1/2 to 3/4 throttle. test drive

272/272 is pretty big for 10.5cr, 3500 stall, and 3.73 gears...... Especially when topped by a 400-2.
The 264/270-112 isn't ideal either IMO.
If its really only 3500 flash stall, I'd expect something about 10deg smaller on a 108-110 would be quicker in the car.

With 3.73's and a .75 OD an even smaller cam would be prefered for a more favorable cruise RPM, IMO.
