So after I took care of the broken snap rings and the governor solenoid kit for the P1757 code, the Durango drove great. Friday I noticed that when I came to a stop, it didn't downshift to 1st. You can manually shift into 1st or bump it to neutral for a second and all is well again. This is kind of intermittent- it might do it one time or it might do it 3or 4 times in a row. No codes... Suggestions? Tim

Watch the gov sensor actual and desired pressures, if they are not the same switch em both out. Get the big BW solonoid. There is not a governor switch just a pressure/temperature sensor and variable solonoid.

There is not a governor switch just a pressure/temperature sensor and variable solonoid. Sounds like I need a scan tool for that. The kit I installed had the following in it- This Kit Includes the following Components:
Governor Pressure Solenoid - Heavy Duty Borg Warner
Governor Pressure Transducer (Sensor) - Oem Mopar # 56028196AD / 68164850AA
Output Speed Sensor with O-Ring Installed - Oem Reference # 4800879
3-4 Accumulator Spring .126" , Upgrade
Filter
Governor Housing Base Gasket
Neoprene / Rubberized Pan Gasket (For a Quality Seal)

That should have fixed it, perhaps a spec of dirt got into one somehow, it wouldn't take much.

A stuck shift valve in the VB will act just like a governor problem....no downshift when rolling to a stop.

Planning on dropping the valve body and cleaning it when I have a little time. Thanks, John. Tim

What year truck is it? And what is the part number of the transducer you installed - you show two part numbers.

As of right now, it's been shifting normally ever since I asked. Probably was a speck of dirt that passed on through as Dave said. I'll keep my fingers crossed anyway. Tim
