I just pulled the timing cover on my 383 and there is no oil slinger on it. Is it needed ?

yes needed on all big block mopars, i dont build one with out it. does the same as the disc at rear of crank shaft before rear main seal area. it slings off the oil spirailing down the crank towards the seals at each end of block while runing, makes the crank oil go from horizontal to vertical and crank speed slings it off back into pan. front one has no lubing jobs, theres oil water falls from lifter gallery to chain, fuel pump rod,oil pump shaft ect..

MOPAR OR NO CAR
