I did race at the old Las Vegas track for many years before it closed and then they built the new one  I can think of several other temporary tracks that opened for a few years that didn't last to long in CA but they where 1/8 mile tracks at airports that had closed or let the races happen on the weekends on a taxi way or a abandoned and closed runway. so much for histoory of drag racing in the south west  BTW, I'm almost sure that NHRA did not start having a race for brackets for world champion at the World Finals until the early 1990s, if I'm wrong please correct me.
I saw Mike's wally saturday, it was dated 1980.
