My assessment would be that for the most part the Chinese heads have gotten better over the last 5-10 years.
I get them(Chinese heads) in the shop for a look over and/or some tweaks fairly regularly.
It’s not often I come across something bad enough where it was likely it would have caused an issue down the road.

Of course, if no one looks at them, then it’s a crap-shoot……… and something like this gets missed.
This was particularly poor seat machining, which would likely have become problematic had it been left like this.
This example was a SM RPM style BBM head(which I haven’t seen them offer in several years).
