I consult with a lawyer tomorrow. With this lawyer, the response I got after speaking briefly on the phone was "I need to see you ASAP, will tomorrow work for you?".

I guess my Wife didn't think I'd pursue one as when I told her tonight, she got upset.
Why did you tell her ANYTHING? Confide in your lawyer, not your wife. Your wife is now your opponent, not your team mate.
You can be friendly with her, in a (very) superficial manner. In fact, that may be the best approach. Avoiding her when possible is ideal. You have a lot of stuff to deal with outside of your home. (Seeing your lawyer, opening a new bank account, looking for a place to live, etc. etc.) When you are around her, let her do nearly all of the talking. Being nasty toward her will just make the process worse. Just remember, ANYTHING you tell her may come back to bite you.
