Yeah, I was told the same thing about the 09 and newer valve covers. But when I received the 09 covers, there was no difference. I still had to trim the ribs to clearance the rocker shaft supports. The 09 and newer rocker covers are supposed to have a little extra height inside. I'm guessing it has something to do with the VVT system. I can send you pictures of what I had to do to make them work.
