OK, wasn't sure what I had. I bought the water pump pulley that Megaparts sells for 66-68 I believe. It is shorter and doesn't come close to the water pump bolts, so when I pull the dampner back where is should be they will probably line-up.
The funny thing about science is that if you change one miniscule parameter you change the entire outcome to the way you want it.
