I was able to put a freshened up 518 behind my 360 for roughly $1500; which included the cost of the trans, having it gone through, and a new Turbo Action torque converter. The 518 I found was a low mileage unit from a wreck. It was labor intensive though as I had to modify the cross member and fabricate a mount. If my car had a big block though I don't think I would have done it as an Ultra Bell would be required.
