The timing mark on the dampner bounces around and does not stay constant.




this is most likly a stretched t-chain if it has been a while since built. 15 yrs is a long time on a chain if it has been run hard and put up wet.

check to make sure the bushing in the dist is good. I had one run like crap from the wobble shaft causing a mis-fire.

you said you checked the damper by a piston stop,but did you look at the rotor to see if it might have jumped a tooth?

are you sure you did not bend a PR or punch thru a rocker?

get some bad gas maybe? water in tank?

did you check plugs to make sure nothing hit and bent the gap closed?
