Cab, I was kinda foggy about those HP 440's (particularly the early 67 to 68') having
the 6 quart Street Hemi pan, too (awhile back). Didn't Direct Connection offer it as an (over-the-counter) upgrade package for the 383/440 oiling system for drag racing as part of their "shared" speed secrets program back then? It's possible that the later HP's (69'-71'), were already fitted with the pans on the line by late 68'.
