Let me bet that the new one is a chrome Mopar replacement, yes? If so they need to be calibrated I cut my tube down with a tubing cutter to get the stick to read correctly after filling the pan up and PRIMING the motor I have a motor on the stand right now that has a aftermarket replacement 1970-71 6 quart Mopar oil pan on it, the sump is five inches deep and ten inches long
