The problem is that I have to jiggle the gear shift while in reverse to find the "sweet" spot that illuminates the BUL's. I've already replaced the NSS twice, so this is about the only thing left. I found out this morning that the part is called a "detent lever" and you can buy a "neutral safety switch detent insulator" kit to replace the insulator. This is about the only thing left, other than a bent or out-of-alignment lever, itself. One other thing that has crossed my mind is maybe the NSS is too long,or installed too tight in the socket. I have temporarily wired a 12v micro-buzzer in the reverse light circuit so I can tell when the BUL's are on. Not really a big thing to me, but the people at the state inspection office would think differently. LOL
