A basic 440 package responds to more cam duration and likes 108 or less lsa. these are torque motors, narrow lsa cams are torque cams. Put a cam in it with some serious duration and you will be rewarded with a serious hp improvement. Put a similar cam in it or something with a little more duration, and you MAY get a little more hp. You have the stall to run the 590. Put it in at 102, check V p, and fix. Then go run the number you want. Simple. And you can shift at 6200.
Basically you need head flow equivalent to Eddys, or well ported Iron heads. An 850 cfm carb, single plane manifold and 2 inch headers with long collectors.
I know of two guys both running this combo, one at 3700 lbs, one at 3800 lbs. Both have run tens.
