I think that cam your looking at would be about perfect...
yes it will have a little less duration at the tight
lash but the wider LSA will help the top end and it
wont be soft in the mid range...street driving the
wider LSA is nice but it wont have much lope to it
if you like that

If he wants to gain 2 tenths that cam will be far from perfect IMO. In a similer test I lost a tenth from a such a change. But with the 110 LS it was much more street friendly. But similer doesnt mean exact.

It was a HD vs HD, but the approximate lifts and duration "differences" would of been about the same between the above mentioned 248* 509 HD and the 251* Lunati solid.

My two cams numbers were
,
1st cam:
108 LS MP 484
.484 lift 241*@.050 Intake.
.484 lift 241*@.050 Exhaust.

2nd cam:
110 LS Eddy 480
.480 lift 238*@.050 Intake.
.495 lift 246*@.050 Exhaust

On the above test I was expecting A bit more ET and top end with the combo. A little more low end grunt with the shorter intake duration and a little more top end with the wider LS and more exhaust duration.

The results were about 1 to 1.5 tenths less with a more streetable driving combo. Both cams were installed 4* advanced.

The conclusion I gained from this was, between all the differences between the two cams at LS,intake Lift/exhaust Lift.

At this level of duration, Duration @ .050 played the biggest part in performance.

Not lobe sep., or higher exhaust lift.
