I need to repair my fiberglass hood. The damaged areas are highlighted. Can I just reapply resin or should I put new matting and resin down? The fibers are loose due to theresin melting in these areas. The damage is only 1 layer deep.

Anyone please. Are my questions that dumb or doesn't anyone know. If you don't know please say so. I'm frustrated enough without this.

You can repair that with JUST resin. It will be a 'cleaner' repair that will less noticable. If the area needs more strength you could add matting, but that will be a more noticable repair.
