For the cost of the carb mods, you are in business. Just need enough fuel delivery capacity to flow forty percent more fuel for the E-85
How much is e-85 a gallon????Considering you use 40% more volume and there is maybe one place in nassau county to purchase e-85,I,m not so sure that's the way to go.IMOP boost is the way to go.Cruzin on pump gas,and when you go to the track a pulley change and fill it with the good gas
HEMI-ITIS has no cure. My condition is fully BLOWN!!

Its around 2.00 a gallon here in indianapolis.
As far as carb mods, call C&S Specialties, CSU, or Quickfuel.
We had C&S do my dads dominator and it only cost $250.00

E-85 here last I checked was 2.21 a gallon. All it requires is alchohol compatible fuel pump and E-85 carb. Why spend thousands on a rebuild, turbo, or supercharger when you can spend about $1500 and be streetable. E-85 is rated for 105 octane. There are guys running it in 15:1 applications. When you compare $8-12 a gallon to around $2 the 30% more fuel usage to me goes right out the window EDIT...... IF you already have a carb it won't cost you $1500 and if you are running a good race fuel pump more than likely it is compatible with alcohol so you won't have to buy that either. If you have the carb and pump you'll be out about $250-300 for the E-85 conversion kit for the carb. Sounds like a good idea to me

E85 will support almost 16:1 compression, so your 13.5:1 will not be an issue.

Availability of E85 in your area is part of the decision. http://www.e85refueling.com/http://www.e85refueling.com/distance.php?page=1I love my switch to E85 in my race car. The mods were paid for by fuel cost savings from race gas in 1 season. Right now race 110 (VP) is $9.25 at the local track. In May I paid $2.09 for E85 and in July it was $2.29. Typically 5-20 percent cheaper than 87 octane pump gas! 13.5 CR, 279/287 at 0.050" cam, aluminum heads, flat top pistons, 0.039" quench. I ran a E85 carb in 2008 and got a good deal on a used Ron's flying toilet mechanical fuel injection ($800) for this year. I started injection with alky (methanol) and switched calibration over to E85.
