Well after about a year and a half of work, my '62 is finally converted over from the old small block turbo combo and ready to run.
I have had so much help from so many people, but more than anyone my Dad (dvw) has just put in HUNDREDS of hours into this car. No doubt I would have eventually gotten it done, but no where near the quality and craftsmanship level he brought to the project. Not to mention the hours my Mom put in helping on the interior, giving up time with my Dad, and keeping us alive!
HardcoreB built a hell of a motor for the combo too, and went above and beyond the original commissioned engine build he took on.
So here is the combo, and the obligatory moparts question for any new build.... what will it run?
3570lbs with driver ready for the starting line (heavier than I was hoping!) 4.10 Dana with Caltracs, 29.5 x 10.5 Pro Bracket Radials, and Mencer Double Adjustable Afco's 727 with good strong parts and Aluminum Drum. TA 8" converter spec'd for the combo (target 6200 stall)
486" Low Deck (4.385" bore x 4" stroke) Indy SR Heads, w/ 2.25" ti valves (flow 360cfm?) 275@.050 / .762" Lift Roller Cam, T&D 1.6 rockers, with PAC Springs Crower Ultra light crank, BME Aluminum Rods, with flat top pistons (12.2:1 compression) Hooker 2-1/8" headers with 3.5" collector Mod Man intake (which we named the SeanMan after the heavy runner length/porting/design changes of HardcoreB's work.) Two 750 AFB's Electric water pump & Vacuum pump pulling 10~12"

By the way the engine sounds, it will run 9.90's, but I think the 4.10's might slow it down some, and need a 4.56 rear gear. Just My opinion. I think 10.25's are reasonable.

Thinking 9.80's at Lapeer or Martin, and 10.20's at Milan if you go on a night when they aren't radial prepping. The car looks outstanding, love the interior and patina!

I'm going to guess 9.70's @ around 136 for the first outing, then you guys will continue to drop from there.... probably a 9.50 or better in it before the year is over.

I've thought about building a 4.0 stroke B/RB stroker motor but haven't built one yet , maybe next year I've built more than one 3.91 stroke B and Rb motors and 4.150, 4.250, 4.320 and several 4.375 strokers with stock Mopar rod jourmnal sizes, never again using the 2.375 rod journal diameter by choice What made you decide to use that stroke? I'm thinking that combination will like RPM i Cab, years ago i built a 475 cube rb motor out of a stock crank cut to 2.10 sbc size at 4.0 inch, using a BME 396 aluminum custom rod. It worked great for what it was. The rod was 7.10 long, which fit some stroker pistons i had from a motor that broke a crank. The 2.10 bearings held up well, and the second owner got a lot of life out of it

That's another one of the cool cars on here. I bet its going to run 9.80's.......but I think it's going to want 4.56's back there.
