I needed one last year for my 69 gtx with the carter and I found an edelbrock on the shelf of a local Autozone. Was thereabouts the same price as summit and was in my hand quicker. It was a fiber 3/8 style. Somebody had put a thin paper one and a thin metal “heat shield” on it and that stuff won’t cut it with todays gas. The vapor separator probably is what kept it running, but the fuel was boiling in the carb until I out that one on. The factory choke stat still worked without any adjustment.

I don’t have a part number handy, but it was a simple search that netted what I needed.

I want my fair share

What material??? picture?
For heat insulation I prefer two thin compressible paper gaskets (normally grey in color) and a phenolic spacer. The thick paper/cardboard can lead to warped flanges twocents

at one time, i had some thick gaskets that were gray in color, plus had some plastic spacers in the bolt holes. they were supposed to keep one from over tightening the flanges.
i can't remember who made them.

^^^ yeah, that's the first thing that came to mind for me.
A light smear of bearing grease on either side and they're basically bulletproof.
Thick base gaskets in general haven't been hard to find.

Yes

However they work great as a heat insulator for the Factory Carters and Edelbrocks also

I spray some silicone on both sides of the gasket before insulation - That way nothing sticks if you have to remove the carb for tuning

They have a divided base gasket also

You can get that same gasket from Amazon about half price, free shipping. But since the OP wasn't happy with the Felpro gasket he has I didn't want to mention it. Comments on the part at Amazon say the metal spacers keep the carb from sealing properly. So you may want to pass on this one.
