Could you get by with one battery? And maybe even change the remaining batt to a lighter one?

I just keep thinking I should really buy a rolling chassis that will end up light rather than mess with the Challenger. Having said that, next time its gets paint it might get a lot of glass parts grin

My old blown 72 weighed in at 3990, all steel and factory glass. Moly 10 point cage and Dana and back then I was probably 220ish.

Not surprising, most are heavier than people think.

Just for reference, my wife's street/strip/cruise night '70 Barracuda weighs 3603lbs without driver. NOTE: I had scaled it at the local truck stop years before and came up with an even 3600lbs. (Never thought the truck scale would have been that accurate.)

All steel, no fiberglass
Iron head 440
727
B-body Dana
Full stock interior
Steel wheels
Full exhaust
Manual steering and brakes
No AC
Battery up front
Approximately 5 gals of fuel

Never intended to be a race car, but runs low 11's @ 119mph in street trim.

Nice car but, much heavier than I would have expected. There's gotta be some 'low-hanging fruit' there?

Not wanting to hi-jack this thread. Cab you should post some pictures and detailed info on your SP Cuda that's for sale.Maybe I missed some, but sounds like a very interesting ride and I would like to know more as I am sure there are others that would too.Pretty light for that year Cuda, and quick too. Thanks, Bill
