WHAT do you have in the rear to get 51% of total?

At the rear, two batteries, half a tank full of gas. Dana 60, CDS cage ,Anti roll bar, beadlocks. Impact bar inside the bumper. 'chute mount.
The front has a real light glass hood, all alloy 580 motor. Lightened bumper mounts, no impact bar on the bumper, Tube K member, Wilwoods. lightwieght Holeshot front wheels (they are lighter than my convo pros anyway).
TBH I was expecting the car to be just under 3900lb with Driver.

I really like that scoop. I might have to get one. Instead of running my old plastic newspaper box.

Tig,
Is the motor set back a little from the stock location?

I am surprised it weighs that much, even with a driver.
My street 1973 Cuda no lightening, iron headed, iron block, full interior, Weld wheels is only 3600 lbs. (without driver).

Actually yes it is, We moved it back as far as we could when we mounted the engine with a plate, which was a while ago. It went back almost 3/4" IIRC and we used up all the slot on the trans mount but left enough room for trans bolts.
However at the time we forgot to factor in trans shields, they tend to be a PITA to fit now grin
It's always been heavy, with the 655 we guessed it was around 4000lb since the last time we weighed it was with a single Dom 572, it was around 3920lb then.
We have added stuff, but I really thought it would be lighter. It was 3819 lb without me in. It is what it is. smile

I cant see how the short overhang E body could be that heavy in the rear. I'm assuming with driver. When my 64 B body had 2 batteries it was 1530 lbs in the rear w/me ( 200lbs. ). Dana, full 5 gallon cell, 10lb fire system, rear wheel and tire combo are 58 lbs each, steel bumper and deck lid. Even the front end us 10lbs more than mine. All steel except 5he hood. And it's a Mega Block.

shruggy Previous to this instance it was weighed was on the scale at the track. They are regularly calibrated, it had a 51/49 rear bias back then. With driver BTW.

OH another thing. This a European spec Challenger. It was shipped and assembled new in Belgium.
It's never been driven on US roads, perhaps a different safety spec ??

You have an extra 500# of something in the trunk.

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

Not surprised with it since you have the "al-you-minium" (as you limeys call it grin) block & heads and the motor offset.
My 68 Dart is 3200 w. me in it, but front heavy

Is this weight with you in the car ready to race?
If not something is amiss I fear work Did you stand on one of those scales to verify how accurate that one is? If not maybe you should scope thumbs

Tig my 70 Mega Block Hemi Cuda with alum. heads, 4 speed, S60 dana full interior weighs #3800 without me in it. No cage but a heavy shaker. The Stage V manifold is super light and the billet wheels save a lot of weight too.
