69 Charger 440. Ever since redoing my fuel system, because it laid for 5 years with ethanol gas, and now running ethanol free rec 90, it sounds like a motor boat from the exhaust tips. Haven't taken it on the road yet to see if it pings. Still tuning the carb. Is the octane to low?

I use the ethanol free regular in an outboard motor and lawn mower, no issues.
Tried some in a '91 volvo, pinged like crazy! Listen carefully if you just switched.
A few stations are selling 93 labeled fuel, I'd look for that.

Video of it running. To me it sounds like an exhaust issue. [img][/img]

I’m I the only pervert that thought this was about a diving act?

OK Cleaned the air/fuel mixture screw holes and adjusted as stated. Ckd timing and it was already at 10. Plugs and wires are new. Cap and rotor fine. I even adjusted the air gap between the reluctor and the pu. It was more than 008. Starts right up. Idles ok but when I gas it from the carb, I get a back fire. Coil?? I've mentioned several times that I now use Rec 90 ethanol free gas for the first time ever. Could this be my friggin problem? It's very frustrating because this car ran awesome before it sat for 5 years. Although garaged and never exposed to the elements.

Try advancing the timing little at a time.I think you still need more advance. Also check the carb to be sure you are getting a good squirt of gas when you gas it.

This.... What carb is on it? The squirter's may be gummed up or the check ball possibly stuck. It sounds like you are getting a lean pop, not enough gas on acceleration.

I have used this year 'round in one of my older cars. I've never had a problem with it.
