Well I just recently discovered that a co-op station about 5km from me has E85 so I would really like to run this fuel. I have two Quickfuel 1050 dominator blower carbs that were set for gas.
What is required to be able to run E85?
Thanks.

My current bracket car had been raced on methanol with a custom fuel system (7.5 gallon custom aluminum fuel cell) mounted up front for a blown B1 motor with a cam driven mechanical injection fuel pump. I put a BG 400 pump between that tank and the motor to run E85 in my 800 HP bracket motor, I used a 100 micron fuel filter between the tank and the pump fed through a #10 AN PTFE Teflon lined stainless steel braided hose and added a 10 micron fuel filter fed through a #10 PTFE line between the pump and the 4 port Magnafuel regulator, I feed the Dominator carb. with # 6 AN PTFE line from the fuel regulator to the fuel bowls, I use .130 stainless steel Holley needles and seats to flow enough E85 into the motor with 5.5 lbs. pressure IHTHs E85 works great for bracket racing

Not running the car yet. Hoping to get the rest of my engine parts this week including the heads, which I had to send back to FHO last year due to bad pitting on new castings. Why can't E85 run through a carb that has been set for gas? I am not buying new carbs because between the Canadian peso, shipping and duties that would be another $3500+. I currently have Quickfuel 1050 dominators set up for a roots blower (14-71)

A gas carb will run way lean on corn.
