I polished out the zinc coating on my new tank with steel wool and coated it with Dupont Chroma clear coat, still looks the same 16 years later, zero issues with finish.... use quality products/equipment no spray can crap
Mike Looks great. Did you do anything with the straps? Getting ready to install a tank on my Plymouth

I always heard that clear coat was porous and that it would still oxidize under the clear. I know people have clear coated drive shafts after blasting them and they started rusting under the clear.
inherited a 69 roadrunner from my grand pop.
