I'm just getting to replace the tie rod ends on my 72 Cuda. Is there a difference in the outer and inner ends other than the RH and LH threads? I have two a bit different than the other two.

Stem sizes are not the same where the nut goes on. I'm not sure if the taper is different or not, I haven't measured them. One is a coarse thread and the other fine thread.

2 different manufacturers is my guess or even different suppliers for the vendor. I cant remember tearing down any original cars with 2 different size nuts on them.

I'd pull the boots & see if taper dimention(s) are the same but highly likely I would just find out which ones' #'s is correct then order another identical one

One of them has "TVA-ES4011R TVA306" and the other "OEXA30417 DM30441L". The ES4011R seems correct. The 441L doesn't. Which threads are different.?

I'm not home right now, but the one at the top of my photo doesn't seem right. When tightened down the hole for the cotter pin is way above the castle nut. And the boot is squished a lot.

the 2 different threads ain't right at all. I would think an inadvertent assy line/packaging mistake. they are human.

I just received a new shipment today of new outer ends from a different vendor, the same as the other two. These have a part number of LTTRES401R. Can someone give me the part number I need? If I install these, the castle nut is so far down on the stem the cotter pin is way above the top of it. I really want to drive it this summer, but working in the woods and only getting home once in a while to work one it to find the wrong part again is frustrating. I need the outer on both sides. Below is a link to my first purchase.

Just called NAPA and they can have them by tomorrow. Real Moog ones. $10.00 a pop, should have gone there first. It'll be a couple weeks before I'm out of the woods again but hope to get it done for August and Sept.

go to a reputable parts store like napa or your local chain brand and get them. I agree. They do have an on line presence also. I was surprised just what is still available these days. Always figured old stuff would be unavailable.
I have mechanical Aptitude. I can screw up anything.

If you haven’t already, and the current suspension is assembled, order yourself a good tie rod puller otherwise you will be in for another delay, or at least a trip to the auto parts store
