Is the modern hemi considered a small block?

I dont know if they consider the GEN III in the same boat as a LS but if its legal then thats the way I'd go From what I have been told the Gen 3 hemi is fine. Actually one person in the club is already using one with a blower. So you think one of those would be better then trying to use some of the W or P heads? With the way the rules are stated do you think it would be allowed to use the mopar W or P heads??

If only 23* Chevy stuff is legal, I wouldn’t spend a penny of W or P stuff until I had it it writing from the rules committee it would be legal, without penalties, for at least 3 years.
Those heads are clearly outside the “intent” of the class.
I wouldn’t build anything where the big stuff(blocks, rotating assy’s, head castings, etc) wasn’t readily available.

He hasn't beaten anyone on the tech committee yet, "spirit of the rules" means "it's not in the rules".

The guy with it has a nice looking machine, but hasn't come close to winning. Same with the P/W heads I would have to make it very clear and have it in writing if they will be allowed or not. Here is a video of their first outing this year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NS2M4tUPUSY

Not to be the wet blankie, but the LSR/SCTA site is full of "I wrote with pictures and details, and got a letter back saying it's legal, but when I got to the tech line I got failed. I took 2 weeks off, traveled 1,000 miles, and spent $$$ for nothing, but Boyd Coddington's wife does whatever she wants."

Might want to see if Gen 1 stuff is legal.
I’m pretty sure everything needed is available new.

Im pretty sure all P heads have non stock valve angles, and some W heads also. I think the Brodix BA would be legal from your rules. I agree with those that are weary of the rule change about the hemi. You seem to be very much on your game, and it wouldn’t be long before the hemi gets outlawed. My honest opinion is if they let you have a turbo hemi, no other combo could touch it.
