Anyone running one of these in a small block? Thinking about sticking one in a 318 with edelbrock heads. Drag car only. 4.10 gear 8" ptc converter 904. reusing all of the stuff off my 11.0 360.

I have that cam in a BB 505 street car. It's got very nice street manners, idles nice at 850, still pulls good up to 6k. Probably doesn't help you any with your small block race question, but just thought I'd mention that I'm happy with mine. Actually planning on upgrading the heads and still keeping the cam.

There’s really only way to know how it will work in your combo....... and that’s to try it.

You must have a reason you want to try that cam......and the way to learn what’s worth what is to try things and see if they work out according to the “plan”.

30+ years ago when I was figuring this stuff out and racing a lot, trying different parts on my car, trying to go faster......... I put 4 cams in my motor in one summer.

FWIW, we run the XE268H cam in our .030 over 318, 10.5:1 with ported and 360 size valves in the 302 heads. We've ran 14.20 lifting with a 3.23 rear. TBH it's a bit doggy until it hits 3000. Also has an air gap rpm intake and 600 d/p Holley, car weighs around 3500lb full street trim. It should go 13's but we haven't done it yet.

Use one on my 318. Best et so far 8.5 1.71 60" with some nos. For street is OK but for the strip I would prever some bigger mechanical flat tapped.

I had one in my 340 for a while, ran and sounded good. Changing combos so its in the classifieds if you want to save a few bucks trying one out.
