I've never seen a bent bar.. unless put a torch to it.. seen plenty of broke ones and broke a few when I was making F-body bars back in the day

Like any spring, a torsion bar is subject to going soft or loosing its original dimension if over stressed and/or worked repeatedly like a light rate spring that's compressed to store energy.
If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.
