Looking for some help/recommendations on torsion bars. It's strictly a drag race car. 1973 Plymouth Scamp with a 360 small block. Currently 60' around 1.50 and 1/8th mile around 7.30's. I bent the passenger side torsion bar last weekend. It is a .920 diameter bar. Wondering if that bar is sufficient or what experiences people have with other diameters. Any brands, diameters, experience, ideas would be appreciated. Thank you!

Looks like strip only, if so, get the lightest bars you feel you will still have reasonable control at speed.

I'm sure some here can help with that decision, I'm not among those.

Just replaced my .830 bars in my A body with .870 bars. The .830 bars were fine with the sb i had, but kept sagging with the current bb i have now.

Maybe I should have said the bar was "fatigued" or "sagging" rather than bent. Thanks for the input so far guys!

If I were you I would pick up drag race bars or
slant 6 bars depending on your total weight

Like any spring, a torsion bar is subject to going soft or loosing its original dimension if over stressed and/or worked repeatedly like a light rate spring that's compressed to store energy.
