I have a 68 Satellite , stock width dana , stock spring location . Currently have a 15x10 wheel and 28x10.5 R15 pro bracket radial . I tried a 29.5x10.5 PBR (29.9 tall ) on a 8.5 wide wheel today and tyre is pretty well touching the dog leg . What are people doing to fit a taller tyre ? 1/4" spacer at front spring mount won't cut it as is . Will a 10" rim drop diameter enough to get by with a spacer ? Fit the dodge b body front spring hanger and go to 117 wheelbase ? I have tried the 295/65 et street ss (30.3 tall ) on a 10" rim , it hit the dogleg when i shut throttle after finish line stripe
Thoughts ?
Tex

thanks guys . funny I tried a 9x30 (29.9) hoosier radial and it fitted , did this a couple of years ago - I think on the 8 1/2"rim . Maybe the narrower tyre was the saving grace . Oh well , I guess either a spacer or I will go the dodge hanger . Clanton , 68-69 should be same as , thanks
Tex

We have always trimmed the front edge of the wheel wells to fit taller tires On the B-body Plymouths there isn't much to trim before you hit the tub - may 3/4" at most. I didn't take this photo for this purpose but you can see there isn't much room to trim

Tex my tire was a 29.5x10.5 15" rim 5 on 5 offset but that would be too close for most of you so the 9" will be fine[just touched].I used a 9x30 without the axle moved back at 7k rpm 150 mph on the dyno 3.73 gear. The 9" barely touched so a 1/2" spacer would be fine on the leaf spring.

If it was me I'd a) check all of the other front spring hangers and see if one of them will work (i.e. Dodge ,Plymouth, superstock and non-SS).
Plan b) would be to buy the 2" longer SS front hangers and drill them for 1"and trim excess. I have a 29.5x10.50 in my '66 Charger and other than the above my only tricks are to use a 68-69 width Dana and replace the rear shackles with sliders.
AR Engineering makes really nice front spring hangers if you didn't know about them. I bought several sets from FirmFeel during mock up. thanks Jeremiah . Here in Oz not so easy to buy and try multiple hangers . I have to import them , I will probably check measurement on my mate's Charger and go from there . I don't really like the idea of more than 1/4"spacer Tex

I will check my stash in the morning. It sound like a Dodge bracket at 3.5" would dothe trick? May be easiest . Or bigger spacer like Clanton . 2 more race meetings this year , national event then final round track championship in next 4 weeks . Then i will get stuck into this and check rear of tyre clearance . Tex
