Mine has a federal pump with a solid pulley, if that helps. Sounds like you have the wrong pump and/or pulley. You may have a BB pulley. The SB with the Saginaw pump has a different offset. This one doesn't have a solid pulley, I have no clue where the customer got this pump from, definitely wrong. Just trying to figure out what I need. Thanks.

The pulley is 7 inches in diameter. casting number on pump is 2537955. Customer supplied his own parts. He started out with the wrong crank pulley, I have the right crank and w/p pulley on now. definitely something up with the pump, pulley, or both.

Here's the original pump on my AAR. would you happen to have the casting number that's on the bottom of the pump? and possibly a photo looking straight down from the top. I would like to see the distance of the pulley to the pump body. Thanks.

Thanks, I have the same casting number, I must have the wrong pulley on the pump or crank, My water pump lines up fine so I think I can eliminate the crank pulley, looks like your p/s pulley sits closer in.

I dug out the two I had. One is from a car without AC & the other had AC.
The pulleys are different on mine.
The non AC version has curved spokes.
The AC version has flatter spokes.
Rough guess without measuring is close to a 1/2 offset difference between the two.
If needed I can put them in the parts washer for a cleanup & get photos. The pulley on mine is sitting about a half inch to far forward, looks like I have an a/c pulley on the pump from your info. Thanks for checking.

Here's a pic of my AAR pulley after bead blasting. I was unable to make out the numbers where I have the X's.

Hmm, maybe reverse the pulley? Disregard.

If you run out of ideas you can put the pulley in a press and rebend it to the depth you need to line up. I have done this to quite a few over the years. Then install it on the pump, clamp the pump in a vise and spin it to check pulley run out. If you need to adjust it you can just bend it by hand. The 3 spoke pulleys are very easy to bend.
The only Carbs I care about are under the hood!
