Suregrip391 OP top fuel S Joined: Sep 2005 Posts: 1,978 USA	Sorry for the bad pics, I have this blueish colored wire that comes out of the wiring harness and does not seem to go anywhere? Not that I can see. It's in the center of the pics, it's wrapped up in the same harness as the coil wire is, It's also the same color as the coil wire. Where is it supposed to go? (Its the blueish colored insulated wire with the end broken off showing its copper wire at the end). Again, sorry for the bad pics! The car is a 70 B-body Satellite with a 383 and I cannot seem to trace it down in a wiring diagram. 4995838-wire1.JPG (71 downloads)

Interesting, so someone changed the distributor your thinking? and should have just capped off this wire?

1_WILD_RT Management Trainee Joined: Jan 2004 Posts: 27,347 Today? Who Knows?	In 1970 some 383's & 440's (mostly HP)had a advance designed to drop all timing at idle, it looked like this... Some cars that didn't get that style advance still have the connector taped into the harness.. That's probably what happened here..

So it has some kinda solenoid that's supposed to eliminate idle advance somehow? That's kinda what the timed port is for
