Looking to pick up a couple tenths, current set up is 69 runner with 470,Indy SR's max wedge from Dwayne Porter, matching intake 4150 with 1050 Dom. with Thumper treatment . Current cam was picked by Dwayne it's a comp soild flat tappet 615 lift,dur@50 266 intake and 270 exhaust .410 lobe lift ground on 110 put in at 106
8 in ultimate convertor 5000 ish stall 410 gear 28 in tall tire ,cal tracs
Car ran best of 10.40 @128,would like to get in 10 teens to 10 o's
Don't really want to do roller thing becuz put on about 2,000 street miles a year, thought maybe a little more cam or maybe just change rockers to 1.6 from 1.5

CR?

60 ft?

I wouldn't expect a big gain from a cam swap, but you could try 1.6s (only on the intakes since you already have more exhaust duration) to look for a small gain.

Do you have a hood scoop? If so, is the carb sealed to the scoop?

Exhaust system? Do you run open headers?

iagree is your chassis working right... the 60'
will tell you how well it is.. if you run exhaust there
are muffs that just plain dont work well.... but your
looking for .3-.4..thats a fair amount

I don't see any major gains, if any, by swapping to another solid cam. Roller would be your next step. Indy heads can handle a lot more than .615" lift, so 1.6 rockers would be a plus on the top end charge. After that, I agree with others. Weight reduction, headers? compression?

Let me also ask what the converter slippage % is, the 1/8 mile ET & MPH, and the RPM going thru the traps in the 1/4...

Do you have collector extensions bolted on the headers? On a car like yours, I'd expect it would "like" about an 18" extension.

Your 60 ft is soft... how much tuning have you done with suspension, carburetor, launch & shift RPM, etc.?

Like we talked, something is definitely goin on and the 60ft to me is where everything starts and needs to be fully rockin by the 330 then of course enuff fuel system to keep it charging forward. Is it spinning? Any video?

Check rpm that full timing advance is in. Maybe you have a late curve.

So, all those changes and it ran 10.4s at 128, regardless?

That makes no sense... and a cam change isn't going to "fix" it, unless you've also wiped it and don't know it, yet.
