You would spend a stupid amount of money and have an exhaust system that needed to be hacked up and rewelded. Then, it would sound different due to the acoustics of the system.

That just covers the exhaust plumbing. Your engine and cam timing events would have to be reworked to achieve something similar at idle. Since the HC alters it's cam timing it sounds a tiny bit different at higher RPM. You have to pick one or the other.

In short, do what you can with what you've got. It'll never sound like a current production car.

Yes. It'll take a high quality digital recording , a bunch of speakers and a gaggle of amplifiers, plus the quietest mufflers for the actual engine.
I believe there was a movie about this a comedy with Kevin somebody and probably Will Ferrell. The movie was the new Challenger's introduction to many.

If you want to mimic exhaust, why not go for the top of the mountain???

To each his own, but I'll take an old V8 with headers sound any day. Modern V8s sound like old trucks with exhaust manifolds to me.

I'm the opposite. I think the Ram1500 Hemi has one of the nicest stock sounds out there.

You can (somewhat) reach your goal by using 180 degree headers on your engine. This type of header design optimizes the effect of exhaust scavaging and engine firing order. The down side to this style is that (often) the headers are a mess to route due to cross-over tubes that are required. If you have something with very little space in the engine bay or very little ground clearance, I wouldn't attempt it. The upside to this design is added horsepower and an exhaust note that sounds more like a high-winding over head cam or twin cam engine. They have been used in drag racing and in Nascar. The certainly do work well and sound great.

You could get close with a gear drive to get the whine, an X pipe, and small body straight trough mufflers. It may not run like a Hellcat, but it will make lots of noise.
