A simple spring seat spacer is cheap. But, dimensions, tolerances, and detail features you want will drive cost..

The spring I have to use.The legs hold it in place but I was thinking of a full skirt to go the length. It's a oil bypass for the 3.6 they don't sell it and even if they did it would be plastic junk. I will get spec and draw a picture..

Does the large skirt need any holes? Either a bored\drilled center, or side holes\slots? What are the rough sizes? Skirt dia, spring pin dia, length? Specify if two outer diameters or more are needed.

Might be a good candidate for a 3D printer, what's it made of?

It's plastic but aluminum would last. It's does need the cage it could be solid.

Looks to be plastic impregnated with moly. The legs look like they slide inside a round bore. If you make an aluminum part to put in there it might seize up.

This is his basic design, with no special angles or features. Just the diameters shown.

Looks to me like a trip to the scrap yard would be easier.I'm quite sure the legs are there for a reason.

You can cut away the side and make legs with a mill.
This parts about an hours time.
The O.D. is going to need to be on it.
I bet the legs are to help with flow.

It's slides inside a plastic cage I don't think it's a flow problem there is plenty of room around it.as for used I have seen a lot of broken ones because of cheap plastic.

after looking at the video, i believe, if you look closer, the legs have a small tapered tab that allowes the assembly to slide together, then the end tabs "snaps outward" into the cage part preventing the spring from pushing the assembly apart. therefore, the legs need to be there as well as having a "foot"[?] to keep everything in one piece. with that being said, if a piece were to be made, i would hazard a guess you could come up with a way to hold everything together. i would have to have it in my hand to say for sure. personally, i have, over the years, disassembled and repaired many things that were never intended to be repaired and have the item[s] work as intended or designed for long periods of time after. i guess it just depends on your skill level, time YOU want to invest, and if it is acceptable for you to do things over [possibly multiple times before an acceptable out come is obtained] or if it just makes more sense to bite the bullet [and crab some] and replace the item in question. how much is this filter/cooler assembly anyway ? if it was already stated, please accept my apology for missing it.

The tabs hold it from coming if but since I will be doing the oil its not necessary. Most guys are making them or just not using it as I am now. The part is 200 and it takes 6 hours book time to install. This is another one of dodges great ideas and great engines which my opinion is crap. This will be my last dodge as I think aft fiat came in they went down hill. The car has 40'000 on it an this happened and the rad went bad which it comes out from the nose. They have also undersized the brakes which no matter what did it ate pads and rotors once a year. They would not warantee the oil cooler or the rad as I was told its a wear and tear item BS. They also would not comment on the brakes even though the new ones come with bigger rotors and calipers which I upgraded myself
