Confused , there should be a brass flare fitting that screws into the trans and radiator , the threads into the trans and the radiator are female , the fitting that screws in is male . What is on it now , you didn't do something silly and run rubber lines did you ?

the trans is 1/8 npt , the rad I th9ink is the same ... the line is 5/16 , -4an

running up my post count some more .

no no, just need to replace, the steel line cracked at radiator, could have used rubber hose or the braided steel lines hanging in garage, but was trying to just replace the steel with steel and add cooler which uses rubber line from radiator to cooler cooler back to radiator. and yes brass fitting coming out transmission and radiator, there the same size, just didn't know what size the -4 an sounds correct thanks, and will order the new radiator as soon as i get the dimensions from you, i think it will be much happier 26" with shroud.

Keep in mind the OEM brass fittings are the SAE 45 degree double flare if you intend to reuse them.

I'd get some 5/16" steel line of a variety that is softer/easier to bend (its out there). cut to length/deburr. slip the female ferrule fitting on the line. single flare with your 45 deg flaring tool. eyeball the quality of the flare as it is the concave/convex cone to cone interface that seals & you want good/smooth/full contact there so no leaks on down the line
