do the Moroso drives have the pulleys "stacked" with a key way? this way they can be moved around to match up with the way your pump is mounted???

Does the moroso unit go over the stock crank bolt? I am asking because the one I have uses the mandrel bolt to hold the dampner, but it keeps loosening up. So I am looking for another type or buliding my own. Thanks

Ron

the dampner is bolted down by the center bolt

6 alen bolts bolt the hub to the dampner

the long bolt threads into the hub

Tony I just ordered all Moroso stuff. The 4 vane enhanced pump sounded like the ticket, so that's the way I went. This costs a few bucks, so I hope it's worth it? Dave.

I wouldn't waste my time with the Moroso. Just get the Star mandrel and you will be happy. They are also real good at telling you exactly what ratio/pulleys you should be running as well. I like the star unit since I can use the captive nut on the end to turn to motor over without taking anything else off the front.

I didn't like the Moroso drive setup since it is so big and heavy but there really aren't many other choices available. I ended up building my own drive setup for the dry sump.

Unless they're making them now, star doesn't make a mandrel for a chrysler balancer, unless you have a Chevy front on it. The star mandrels are fantastic.

Here is the drive that I made. It is a spline drive rather than a shaft with a key but it works basically the same way. In this picture it is set up with just the one Gilmer pulley but it can be stacked with V groove pulleys as well. Peterson sells the spline drive stuff and they have spacers, pulleys, etc that all can be stacked in any order.

You sly dog! Your up to no good! The Aerospace components drive looks good too, but I don't know if they have a chrysler drive? I have a couple chevy friends that have Musi motors, they both have enhanced 4 vane moroso pumps, that will pull all the vacuum you want. The star products look great too.

CV products makes really nice pulleys and drives. there crank pulleys and mandrel drives are pin drive. you can build any configuration you can think of. check out there web site.that star products is top of the line though! they have an electric vacuum pump that the pro stock guys use, mounts on the floor in the car but its 1600.00.

Ya that's nice! How do you set valves etc? How do you rotate the motor?
