Hello All,
I was curious, is there a thread on the blackening of the radiator core support for a '70 Cuda? Does it get behind the headlamp buckets and suck? I am helping a friend restore his '70 Hemi Cuda and he's not too much into computers. Also, is there an application illustration for the undercoating treatment in the wheel wells ( front & rear ).

Thanks in advance...

There is a factory diagram for the rad support.

But for rad support black and wheel well undercoating, I'd go off original examples. I know there was an old thread on E-body rad support backout showing examples of how deep into the headlight bucket area. There's variation.

On wheel well's I remember threads with dave walden and troy bray showing example and what they did.

I have 71 challenger fenders that are totally covered behind the bucket and inside corners.

Was the rad core support blacked out from the factory? Some cars got over looked on that.

This car has had many paint jobs over the lifespan of it. My buddy raced it for decades.... it is only now he's restoring it back to OEM correctness. So, all the original treatment is gone......

Over spray is also normal, the cars were not masked.

Anything unique for a '70 Cuda in this regard?

T,
I have got some pics of Dave Walden's 70 Chally; those pics will help.
I can e-mail them tomorrow if you like.

Best regards, Marcel

Here's the only pic I had taken of my '70 Barracuda's rh/pass side, don't have one at all for the lh/driver's.

Can basically see how the firewall area was loaded with undercoating, and traces under the diagonal brace.

While the control arm area and inspection plate see a mask pattern, there were traces of undercoating oversprayed onto each upper arm.

Way to go on getting the ole 426 hemi running, good for you, Troy, hope you have lottttts of fun times & many miles with it, and may all that good work from the past keep you confident for this future resto on the 'Hemi Cuda.

Here's another 70 challenger. Between the headlights on this one particular car.

this car has been repainted o the outside and there's overspray on bumper brackets obviously.

Found some very good pictures of a 70 Cuda radiator support and headlight blackout.

Heres a few pics from the front of my 70 AAR, thought the yellow contrast makes it easier to understand than some other colors.
