I can't remember and can't seem to find the info on my own. What has to be done motor mount/K member wise to drop a 440 into a 67 B-body that came factory with a Slant 6?

Three choices, buy adapter mounts, use a front motor plate or elephant ears or find a V8 K member and swap the original out I'm in the middle of aquiring parts to remove the six cylinder K member from my 1966 Coronet Deluxe and put in a V8 K member in it so I can use stock OEM mounts and headers for a 440 I've done the front motor plate and elephant ears before that, I have NOT done the adapter mounts because of the problems I've heard from other Mopar guys that did use them having to use special headers and so on Investigate and then decide, think twice or more and then act once

V8 k frames are pretty easy to find and not expensive, I'd just get one.

Now I need to pin those needles, got to feel that heat

V-8 k-member is your only option(big and small block are the same, the motor mounts are different SB/ BB though).

no-one makes adapter/ mounts for /6 to v8 in the 66-70 b-body

I beleive the 1966 to 1971 K members in the B and E bodys are interchangeable I have swapped a Hemi K member out of a 1968 RR to a 1969 GTX and then the same K member into a 1970 Challenger

B to E body I understood to be 71/72 B because of steering box geometry.

Thanks gentlemen. So, I assume a stock manual gear box will swap between K-members?

Yes it will.

Also get a 68 or 69 B body K member and eliminate the $$$ stud mount idler arm while you are at it.

E body and 71/72 B body have a different steering box mounting angle , along with a different swaybar mounting setup so just stick with the 68/9 K .

yes you can use the 66-70 B-body V8 k-frame...remember there Are two different idler arms and two different sizes of steering gEAR BOX BOLTS.. My 66 was a S^ and i used a 68 Charger K-frame. your best bet is to rebuild front suspension at the same time. its pretty easy doing it on a work bench...

get your v8 k-frame and clean&paint or powder coat it when its bare...reinforce all welds...if you can...factory was sloppy and most of the stick arc welds were goobered up.

Are the bolts different diameters or just different lengths.

Lastly, is black the correct color for the k-frame?
